About Voices for Animal Welfare
OUR STORY
The story of Voices for Animal Welfare (VfAW) began with a single spark: a deep passion for animal welfare and a firsthand understanding of the urgent need for stronger animal protection laws. While volunteering in South Africa and Tanzania, our founder and president, Vanessa Vichi, witnessed the harsh realities faced by animals in regions where legislation often falls short. From majestic wildlife in conservation areas to vulnerable domestic animals in local communities, it became clear that more needed to be done to protect animals and raise awareness.
Motivated by these experiences, Vanessa set out to create an international animal welfare NGO that bridges the gap between Europe and Africa, combining expertise from both continents to drive lasting change. She believed that by empowering local communities through education, legal advocacy, veterinary care, and photography, it is possible to improve the well-being of animals and foster a global culture of compassion.
Today, Voices for Animal Welfare is a registered nonprofit organization in both Europe and Africa, dedicated to promoting animal welfare through law, science, art, and education. VfAW connects volunteers, legal experts, veterinarians, photographers, and educators worldwide to make a meaningful impact on animals' lives. We work tirelessly to strengthen animal protection laws, raise public awareness, and build a safer, more compassionate world for animals everywhere.
